Date Sweetened Cardamom Steel Cut Oats

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup steel cut oats
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of cardamom
  • 1 date chopped up
  • 1 banana sliced up
  • 1 tbsp ground flax
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk ?

Preparation

  1. Combine ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a low simmer

  2. Allow to cook for about 20 minutes, checking on it every so often to stir

  3. Modify fluids as needed until oats thicken and soften

  4. To save time, feel free to soak oats over night before cooking and then cook for half the time (8-10 minutes)
