Easy Crispy Indonesian Kremesan
Ingredients
- 6 heaping tablespoons tapioca flour
- 3 tablespoons rice flour
- 1 egg yolk
- 500 ml water or coconut milk to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon salt or mushroom stock
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 heaping teaspoons garlic powder
- Plenty of oil for frying
Preparation
Heat oil in a pan.
Mix tapioca flour, rice flour, egg yolk, water, salt, and spices until smooth; strain if desired to remove lumps.
Pour the mixture from a height into the hot oil using a ladle, about 4 to 5 times.
Allow the mixture to set until it can be folded without breaking; do not stir.
Fold the setting mixture in half, then fold again.
Fry until golden brown, then remove and drain.
Once cool, store in a jar.
