Fried Sesame Sweet Potato Kuih

Ingredients

  • 1 packet glutinous rice flour
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon rice flour
  • 1 kg sweet potato
  • coconut filling

Preparation

  1. Steam the sweet potato until soft, then mash it.

  2. Mix all the flours together until well combined, then add the mashed sweet potato.

  3. Mix evenly and gradually add a little salted water bit by bit.

  4. Knead the dough, ensuring it is not too soft.

  5. Once the dough is ready, sprinkle with sesame seeds and mix well.

  6. When frying, start with low heat to prevent breaking and flattening; once they swell and float, increase the heat to crisp them up.
