Gluten Free Vegan French Toast
Ingredients
- 6-8 slices @littlenorthernbakehouse bread
- 2/3 C @malkorganics unsweetened almond milk
- 1/4 C @bobsredmill garbanzo bean flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp grade A maple syrup
- 1 tsp @simplyorganicfoods Madagascar Vanilla
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp @bobsredmill nutritional yeast (optional)
Preparation
Melt 1 tbsp @spectrumorganic coconut oil in a large cast iron skillet over low heat.
Whisk all ingredients together (except bread) in a large flat bottomed bowl or dish.
Dip each piece of bread in the milk mixture to coat both sides.
Place in hot skillet and cook for 3 minutes per side. Use a thin metal spatula to flip - can stick to skillet a little bit otherwise!
If you’re making this for a large group, put the prepared slices in a 250 degree oven to keep warm!
Transfer to plate, top with a spread of @miyokoscreamery vegan butter, a drizzle of maple syrup, chopped pecans, and fresh fruit!
