Karaköy Style Turkish Poğaça
Ingredients
- 250 grams butter or margarine
- 2 eggs (one yolk for brushing)
- 4.5 cups flour (200 ml cup measure)
- 1 tea glass warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
Preparation
Mix all ingredients to form a dough and knead it.
Let the dough rest for 1 hour.
Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
Brush the pieces with the egg yolks.
Shape them with a fork to give the original form.
Let them rest for another 15 minutes.
Bake in a preheated 190-degree Celsius oven for 20 minutes.
Serve and enjoy.
