Brazilian Ham and Cheese Savory Roll

Ingredients

Dough

  • 30 grams yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • about 500 grams all-purpose flour

Filling and topping

  • ham
  • mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • oregano

Preparation

  1. Blend yeast, warm milk, sugar, salt, oil, eggs, and margarine in a blender for 5 minutes

  2. Pour the liquid into a plastic bowl and gradually add the flour until a dough forms

  3. Knead the dough by hand; the more you knead, the softer it will become

  4. Let the dough rest for at least 1 hour

  5. Roll out the dough, layer mozzarella cheese and ham, then roll the dough

  6. Place the roll seam-side down on a greased baking sheet

  7. Brush the top with egg yolk and sprinkle with oregano

  8. Bake in a medium oven for about 30 minutes
