Brazilian Ham and Cheese Savory Roll
Ingredients
Dough
- 30 grams yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- salt to taste
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- about 500 grams all-purpose flour
Filling and topping
- ham
- mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg yolk
- oregano
Preparation
Blend yeast, warm milk, sugar, salt, oil, eggs, and margarine in a blender for 5 minutes
Pour the liquid into a plastic bowl and gradually add the flour until a dough forms
Knead the dough by hand; the more you knead, the softer it will become
Let the dough rest for at least 1 hour
Roll out the dough, layer mozzarella cheese and ham, then roll the dough
Place the roll seam-side down on a greased baking sheet
Brush the top with egg yolk and sprinkle with oregano
Bake in a medium oven for about 30 minutes
