Homemade Milky Burger Buns

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups flour

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, warm water, sugar, and yeast, then let it sit until foamy

  2. Add the egg, salt, vegetable oil, butter, and flour to the yeast mixture and mix until a soft dough forms

  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size

  5. Punch down the dough and shape it into burger bun rounds

  6. Place the buns on a baking sheet, cover, and let them rise again until puffy

  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C)

  8. Brush the tops of the buns with the egg yolk if desired

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
