Homemade Zebra Cake with Chocolate Swirls
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 300g sugar
- 125ml oil
- 125ml water
- 375g all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
Preparation
Start by beating the egg whites until stiff peaks. Once reached, add half the sugar and continue beating until firm. Reserve
Beat the egg yolks with the remaining sugar until you get a light cream. Add the water and beat again until foamy
Add the baking powder, flour, and oil, beating until a homogeneous batter is obtained
Combine this batter with the previously made mixture and stir gently until incorporated
Divide the batter into two separate bowls. Add the cocoa powder to one of them and mix
In a greased and floured pan, place 1 spoonful of the white batter in the center. On top of the center of the white batter, add 1 spoonful of the chocolate batter
Repeat the operation until the batters are finished. This creates the zebra pattern
Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C for about 50 minutes. Unmold after cooling and serve
