Moist Marble Cake with Chocolate Swirl
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups (360 g) sugar
- 1 cup (240 ml) oil
- 1 cup (240 ml) milk
- 3 cups (420 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon (12 g) baking powder
- 4 tablespoons (24 g) cocoa powder
Preparation
In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar in a mixer for about 10 minutes or until doubled in volume
With the mixer still running, add the oil and milk and beat a little more
Turn off the mixer and add the sifted flour gradually, mixing gently to avoid losing the air in the batter
Then add the baking powder and mix well
Reserve a small portion of the batter (equivalent to 1 1/2 cups) and incorporate the cocoa powder. Mix and set aside
In a round 27 cm diameter tube pan, greased with butter and floured, pour the white batter, then add the chocolate batter
Using a fork or toothpick, make circular motions to create a marbled effect
Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C for about 50 minutes or until golden
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly and unmold
