Easy Home-Pickled Tomatoes in Jars

Ingredients

  • 1 bay leaf
  • 4 cloves
  • 5-6 allspice peppercorns
  • A pinch of black peppercorns
  • A handful of chopped garlic
  • Cherry leaf (optional)
  • Bunch of dill greens and an umbel
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon 70% vinegar

Preparation

  1. Wash the jars and do not sterilize them; boil the lids.

  2. Add the bay leaf, cloves, allspice peppercorns, black peppercorns, chopped garlic, cherry leaf if available, dill greens, and umbel to the jars.

  3. Place the tomatoes in the jars.

  4. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes and let them sit for 15 minutes.

  5. Boil the marinade and pour it back into the jars.

Tips

  1. The pickled tomatoes store well at room temperature and turn out very tasty.
