Mashed Potato Beef Casserole

Ingredients

Mashed potato

  • 4 large potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt to taste

Meat mixture

  • 400g ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/3 cup red wine
  • Bolognese tomato sauce (Ole Foods)
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs

Preparation

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes, cook them in salted water until soft, drain, then process with butter, Parmesan cheese, milk, and salt to make a firm mash.

  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add oil and sauté onion, garlic, and bell pepper until golden, add ground beef and cook for a few minutes, add red wine and cook for 5 minutes to evaporate alcohol, then add Bolognese tomato sauce, adjust salt and pepper, and simmer for 30 minutes on low heat.

  3. Assemble in a mold by adding a layer of mashed potatoes and compact well, then add a layer of meat mixture, sliced hard-boiled eggs, some mozzarella cheese, finish with another layer of mashed potatoes and compact well, add mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top, and bake in the oven until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
