Black Pepper Beef Stir-Fry
Ingredients
- 500g beef
- 2 potatoes
- 10 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons black peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons cumin seeds
- Thumb-sized ginger
- 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar or 1 tablespoon white sugar
- Half chicken stock cube
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- Oil as needed
Garnishes
- 1 onion
- 1 red chili
- 1 tomato, cut into quarters
- Spring onions
- Celery leaves
Preparation
Fry the potatoes that have been sliced into rounds and coated with salt and turmeric until golden.
Blend the garlic, black peppercorns, cumin seeds, ginger, sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar or white sugar, and half chicken stock cube.
Marinate the thinly sliced beef with the blended mixture for 20 minutes.
Cook the marinated beef with a little water until tender and the sauce thickens. If not tender, add more water.
Once the sauce is thick, add about one ladleful of the oil used for frying the potatoes.
Add the fried potatoes, onion, red chili, tomato quarters, spring onions, celery leaves, vinegar, and adjust seasoning as needed.
