- 2-3 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
- 3/4 tablespoon oyster sauce
- salt to taste
- black pepper powder and coarsely ground black pepper to taste
Preparation
Heat the wok over medium heat and stir-fry garlic and ginger with oil until fragrant.
Add the beef and stir until it changes color.
Add oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, salt, black pepper, bell peppers, and onion.
Let it sizzle and pop.
Stir and add a little water if desired.
Adjust seasoning if needed.
Cook until all ingredients are done and the onion is still crisp then serve.
Tips
Choose high-quality beef to prevent toughness and do not wash it, slice against the grain for tenderness.
Avoid overcooking the beef.
Use a wok or similar pan for better aroma.
For a cheaper option, substitute bell peppers with large chilies and remove the seeds.
For enhanced black pepper flavor, use a combination of powdered and coarsely ground black pepper.
