Classic Brazilian Condensed Milk Pudding
Ingredients
Caramel
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Pudding
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cans whole milk, measured using the condensed milk can
- 4 large eggs
Preparation
Caramel
Melt sugar in a saucepan over low heat until completely dissolved
Carefully add water (be cautious as it will bubble and may cause burns)
Cook until caramel thickens, then pour into a mold
Pudding
Blend condensed milk, milk, and eggs in a blender for 3 minutes
Pour the mixture into the caramel-coated mold
Cover the mold with aluminum foil
Bake in a water bath in a preheated medium oven for about 1 hour 30 minutes
Check for doneness: the top should be firm
Let cool before unmolding
