Classic Brazilian Condensed Milk Pudding

Ingredients

Caramel

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Pudding

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cans whole milk, measured using the condensed milk can
  • 4 large eggs

Preparation

Caramel

  1. Melt sugar in a saucepan over low heat until completely dissolved

  2. Carefully add water (be cautious as it will bubble and may cause burns)

  3. Cook until caramel thickens, then pour into a mold

Pudding

  1. Blend condensed milk, milk, and eggs in a blender for 3 minutes

  2. Pour the mixture into the caramel-coated mold

  3. Cover the mold with aluminum foil

  4. Bake in a water bath in a preheated medium oven for about 1 hour 30 minutes

  5. Check for doneness: the top should be firm

  6. Let cool before unmolding
