Classic Brazilian Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 French bread rolls
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 (14-ounce) cans milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Caramel

  • 1 cup sugar

Preparation

Caramel

  1. Heat 1 cup sugar in a saucepan over medium heat without stirring until caramelized

  2. Pour the caramel into a 9-inch bundt pan, tilting to coat the bottom

Pudding

  1. Blend eggs, condensed milk, bread, butter, milk, and 1/2 cup sugar in a blender until smooth

  2. Pour the mixture into the caramel-lined bundt pan

  3. Place the bundt pan in a roasting pan and fill the roasting pan with hot water halfway up the sides

  4. Bake at 350Β°F (180Β°C) for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
