Indonesian Goat Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 2-3 servings cooked white rice
  • 200g goat meat, cubed
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • Sweet soy sauce to taste
  • Salt to taste

Spice paste

  • 7 shallots
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add cinnamon stick until fragrant, then add the spice paste and stir briefly before adding curry powder and stirring until cooked.

  2. Add the cubed goat meat, stir well, then add water and salt, and cook until the meat is tender.

  3. Once the meat is tender, add sweet soy sauce, stir and adjust seasoning to taste.

  4. Add cooked white rice, stir well until the fried rice is done and the spices are absorbed.

Accompaniments

  1. Serve with emping crackers.

  2. Serve with sliced cucumber and tomato.

  3. For pickled vegetables, cut cucumber, carrot, shallots, and bird's eye chili into cubes, add salt, sugar, and vinegar, and mix well.
