Moist Caramelized Banana Cake
Ingredients
Batter
- 3 eggs
- 3 tablespoons margarine
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
Topping
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 to 5 bananas
Preparation
Topping
Pour the sugar into a round pan with a hole in the center and heat over medium heat until completely melted
Slice the bananas and arrange them over the caramelized sugar
Batter
Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and set aside
In another bowl, beat the eggs with the margarine and sugar
Add the flour, milk, salt, and baking powder
Fold in the beaten egg whites and continue mixing
Pour the batter into the caramelized pan with the sliced bananas
Bake in a preheated medium oven (180Β°C) for 30 minutes
