Orange Zest Butter Cake
Ingredients
- 1 2/3 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups fine-grained sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 3 large egg yolks
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon fine orange zest

Preparation
Preheat the oven to 170°C and place the middle rack in the oven
Use a rectangular loaf pan, grease it with vegetable shortening or butter and dust with flour, or line it with parchment paper, set aside
On a piece of paper or in a deep bowl, sift the flour, salt, baking powder, set the mixture aside
In the mixer bowl, place the butter and sugar, attach the paddle attachment, and on medium speed, beat the butter with the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy
Add an egg and beat on low speed until incorporated, then add another egg, repeat the steps until all eggs and egg yolks are used, add the vanilla and orange zest
Add the flour mixture, mix on low speed for 30-40 seconds until combined, pour the mixture into the pan
Bake the cake for 60-65 minutes, test for doneness
Leave the cake in the pan until completely cool, sprinkle orange sauce over it, then cut into slices
