Simple Everyday Vanilla Cake
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup softened butter
- 2 cups fine-grained sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
Preparation
Set the middle rack in the oven and preheat the oven to 180°C.
Use a round tube pan, grease it with vegetable shortening or butter, dust with flour, and set aside.
In a suitable bowl or on a piece of paper, sift the flour, salt, and baking powder, then set aside.
In the mixer bowl, place the butter and sugar, attach the paddle attachment, and mix on medium speed until the mixture is creamy and fluffy.
Add the eggs gradually, one at a time, while continuing to mix until incorporated, then add the vanilla.
Add about one-third of the flour mixture, add half of the milk, mix on low speed until the flour disappears, then add the remaining milk and some flour, mix until incorporated, and finally add the remaining flour.
Mix on medium speed for 1 minute until the mixture is smooth.
Pour the mixture into the pan.
Bake for 40-45 minutes and test for doneness.
Remove the pan from the oven, let it cool on a wire rack for a few minutes until slightly cool, remove the cake from the pan, and let it cool completely.
