Vegetarian Mince on Toasted Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 multi-seed thick-cut bread slices
  • Butter or spreadable butter
  • Meat-free mince
  • Water
  • Vegetable stock pot
  • Black pepper
  • White pepper
  • Onion salt
  • Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornflour
  • Gravy browning
  • Extra mature cheddar cheese

Preparation

  1. Mix the cornflour with a little water to create a slurry

  2. In a pan, cook the meat-free mince with water, vegetable stock pot, black pepper, white pepper, onion salt, and garlic powder until heated through

  3. Add the cornflour slurry and gravy browning to the mince mixture and stir until thickened

  4. Toast the bread slices until golden

  5. Spread butter on the toasted bread

  6. Spoon the mince mixture over the buttered toast and top with grated extra mature cheddar cheese
