Simple Vanilla Cinnamon Oatmeal with Fruit Toppings

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1 tsp ground flax seed
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 medjool date or 2 tsp maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional but delicious)

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a simmer, stirring to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pan.

  2. Allow oats to thicken to desired consistency and feel free to use mixing spoon to mash up the date into smaller pieces.

  3. Serve oats immediately and top with fruit.
