Fried Cardamom Puff Pastry Bites
Ingredients
- 1 packet puff pastry squares
- 1 tablespoon fine cardamom
- 1 large egg
For frying
- corn oil
For serving
- syrup, qatar, or sharbat
Preparation
Place the egg in a small bowl and get a brush.
Brush the pastry squares with the egg and sprinkle a little fine cardamom on top.
Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut each pastry square into 5 strips.
Roll each strip into a small roll and use a toothpick to secure the edge.
In a frying pan, add corn oil to a depth of about 1 inch and heat it well.
Add a few pieces to the hot oil and fry until golden brown, turning gently.
Remove from the oil and immediately dip in the syrup, leave for a few seconds to absorb, then drain excess syrup.
Sprinkle more cardamom on top and serve warm or at room temperature.
