Fried Cardamom Puff Pastry Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 packet puff pastry squares
  • 1 tablespoon fine cardamom
  • 1 large egg

For frying

  • corn oil

For serving

  • syrup, qatar, or sharbat

Preparation

  1. Place the egg in a small bowl and get a brush.

  2. Brush the pastry squares with the egg and sprinkle a little fine cardamom on top.

  3. Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut each pastry square into 5 strips.

  4. Roll each strip into a small roll and use a toothpick to secure the edge.

  5. In a frying pan, add corn oil to a depth of about 1 inch and heat it well.

  6. Add a few pieces to the hot oil and fry until golden brown, turning gently.

  7. Remove from the oil and immediately dip in the syrup, leave for a few seconds to absorb, then drain excess syrup.

  8. Sprinkle more cardamom on top and serve warm or at room temperature.
