Fried Cardamom Puff Pastry with Syrup
Ingredients
- 1 packet puff pastry squares
- 1 tablespoon fine cardamom
- 1 large egg
For frying
- Corn oil
For serving
- Syrup or sugar syrup
Preparation
Place the egg in a small bowl and get a brush.
Brush the pastry squares with the egg and sprinkle with fine cardamom.
Cut each pastry square into 5 strips using a pizza cutter or knife.
Roll each strip into a small roll and secure the edge with a wooden toothpick.
In a frying pan, heat corn oil to a depth of about 1 inch.
Fry a few pieces in the hot oil, turning gently until golden brown.
Remove from oil and immediately dip in syrup or sugar syrup, let it absorb for a few seconds, then drain excess syrup.
Sprinkle with more cardamom and serve warm or at room temperature.
