4-Ingredient Banana Cream Caramel
Ingredients
- 100 grams granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 4 eggs
- 4 large or 5 medium bananas
- 2 cups milk (400 ml)
Optional
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
Heat sugar and water in a pan over medium heat until it caramelizes and turns golden brown.
In a blender or bowl, mash the bananas and mix with eggs, milk, and vanilla if using.
Pour the caramel into a heatproof dish, then add the banana mixture on top.
Cook the mixture either over a pot of boiling water on the stove or bake in the oven until set and firm.
Tips
Stovetop cooking in boiling water results in a moist texture, while oven baking makes it firmer and less watery.
Taste the mixture before cooking; if it's not sweet enough, add more sugar or honey as needed.
