Easy Birthday Cake with Whipped Cream Frosting
Ingredients
Cake batter
- 6 eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 250ml water, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
Frosting
- 500ml heavy cream
- milk powder
Soaking
- milk
Preparation
Beat egg whites until stiff in a mixer
Add egg yolks and sugar and beat until homogeneous and fluffy
Gently fold in the sifted flour and water gradually, mixing from the bottom up
Add baking powder and mix to incorporate
Pour the batter into a pan lined with parchment paper without greasing
Bake in a preheated medium oven until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 30-40 minutes, and do not open the oven before 30 minutes to prevent the cake from collapsing
Let the cake cool completely
Frosting and assembly
Beat the heavy cream until stiff
Add milk powder and beat until combined
Soak the cake with milk
Frost the cake with the whipped cream mixture
