Traditional Brazilian Condensed Milk Pudding

Ingredients

Pudding

  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (14-ounce) can whole milk (use condensed milk can as measure)
  • 3 large eggs

Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups water

Preparation

  1. Beat the eggs well in a blender

  2. Add the condensed milk and milk, and blend again

  3. Melt the sugar in a pan until brown, add the water and let it thicken

  4. Pour the caramel into a round mold and pour the pudding mixture over it

  5. Bake in a moderate oven for 45 minutes, with the round mold placed inside a larger pan containing water

  6. Prick with a fork to check if it's well baked

  7. Let cool and unmold
