Brazilian Well-Matched Cake with Condensed Milk Filling
Ingredients
Cake batter
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup hot milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Filling
- 2 cans sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 4 level tablespoons brown sugar
Preparation
Cake batter
Separate egg whites and yolks into different bowls
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form
Add egg yolks one at a time without stopping the beat
Add sugar and beat until the mixture turns pale
Add vanilla extract
Gently mix in the flour
Pour in the hot milk mixed with baking powder and beat until a homogeneous batter forms
Pour into a greased and floured pan
Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C for one hour
Filling and assembly
Mix all filling ingredients in a saucepan
Cook over low heat until it comes to a boil
Cut the baked cake into layers
Spread the filling between the layers
Sprinkle powdered sugar on top for decoration
