Malaysian Sago with Palm Sugar Syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sago pearls
  • 6 cups water
  • 3 drops pandan essence

Palm sugar syrup

  • Palm sugar
  • Water
  • Pandan leaves

Coconut milk mixture

  • Coconut milk
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Soak sago in water for 2 minutes.

  2. Cook sago and water, stirring until white bits disappear.

  3. Boil palm sugar with water and add pandan leaves.

  4. Let the sugar dissolve and the mixture slightly thicken.

  5. Turn off heat, strain into another container, cool to room temperature, then refrigerate.

  6. Prepare a suitable container.

  7. Add the palm sugar syrup.

  8. Add the cooked sago.

  9. Finally, add the coconut milk.
