Grilled Flattened Bananas with Brown Sugar Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6 kepok bananas
  • 3 tablespoons margarine

Brown sugar sauce

  • 150 ml water
  • 50 ml coconut milk
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 pandan leaf
  • 2 small pieces palm sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Preparation

  1. Flatten the bananas.

  2. Heat a Teflon pan and add margarine.

  3. Grill the bananas until golden brown, then remove from heat.

  4. Combine water, coconut milk, salt, pandan leaf, and palm sugar in a pot and boil until sugar dissolves.

  5. Add the dissolved cornstarch and stir until the sauce thickens, then remove from heat.

  6. Serve the grilled bananas with the brown sugar sauce.

Notes

  1. This dish is quick and easy to prepare, perfect for breakfast or as a snack, and goes well with plain tea.
