Spiced Golden Turmeric Milk

Ingredients

  • Almond Milk - 2 cups (or any milk)
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Star anise - 1
  • Cinnamon stick - 1
  • Cardamom pods - 2 (pounded)
  • Black pepper corns - 1/4 tsp (optional)
  • Maple syrup - to taste (or any sugar)
  • Saffron - pinch (diluted in a bit of milk)
  • Ghee - 1 tsp (or coconut oil for vegan)
  • Chopped Almonds - 2 tbsp

Preparation

  1. Take a saucepan and add all ingredients except saffron and sugar.

  2. Place on very low heat.

  3. Stir well and bring to a boil.

  4. Simmer on low heat until fragrant and aromatic.

  5. After 10 minutes, turn off the heat and add sugar and diluted saffron.

  6. Strain through a fine strainer into glasses.

  7. Add chopped almonds and enjoy.

Tips

  1. You can store this in the fridge for 3-4 days and reheat before serving.
