Spiced Golden Turmeric Milk
Ingredients
- Almond Milk - 2 cups (or any milk)
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Star anise - 1
- Cinnamon stick - 1
- Cardamom pods - 2 (pounded)
- Black pepper corns - 1/4 tsp (optional)
- Maple syrup - to taste (or any sugar)
- Saffron - pinch (diluted in a bit of milk)
- Ghee - 1 tsp (or coconut oil for vegan)
- Chopped Almonds - 2 tbsp
Preparation
Take a saucepan and add all ingredients except saffron and sugar.
Place on very low heat.
Stir well and bring to a boil.
Simmer on low heat until fragrant and aromatic.
After 10 minutes, turn off the heat and add sugar and diluted saffron.
Strain through a fine strainer into glasses.
Add chopped almonds and enjoy.
Tips
You can store this in the fridge for 3-4 days and reheat before serving.
