Turkish Meatballs with Vegetable Sauce
Ingredients
- 500g ground meat
- 1 onion (grated and juice squeezed)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Red pepper powder
- Vegetable seasoning
Sauce
- 1 package frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, potatoes)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 500ml vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Red pepper powder
- Black pepper
Preparation
Put all meatball ingredients in a deep bowl and knead well, then form into balls of desired size and place in a deep wide pan.
Drizzle some oil over the meatballs and cook until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
Add butter and sauté briefly.
Add tomato paste and sauté briefly.
Add vegetable broth, mix well, and bring to a boil.
Add the frozen mixed vegetables and spices, then simmer together on medium heat for 10 minutes until ready to serve.
Notes
Add salt after cooking because the vegetable broth already contains salt.
If the dish thickens or the water evaporates, add more water as needed.
