Cinnamon and Ginger Steel Cut Oats

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Steel Cut Oats (soaked overnight in water then rinsed and drained before using)
  • 1 tsp ground flax seed
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp dry ginger or 1 tsp fresh ginger minced
  • 1 1/4 cup almond milk, unsweetened
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Soak the steel cut oats overnight in water, then rinse and drain before using.

  2. Add all ingredients to a saucepan.

  3. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking to the bottom.

  4. Remove from heat and serve immediately with additional toppings if desired, such as berries, coconut, and almond butter.
