Vegan Hot Chocolate Porridge
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups oats
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp agave
- 1/3 cup peanut butter
- 1/8 cup homemade date syrup
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 cup cacao nibs
- 150ml water
- 250ml unsweetened almond milk
Toppings
- vegan hot chocolate
- banana
- dry roasted peanuts
- peanut butter
- desiccated coconut
- grated vegan chocolate
- cacao nibs
Preparation
Place all the ingredients in a bowl and stir until combined.
Cooking time will vary depending on whether you use a microwave or stovetop.
For microwave cooking, ensure your bowl is microwave safe. Cook for 2-minute intervals, stirring in between, until most of the liquid is absorbed and desired consistency is reached. Note that cooking time was 8 minutes in an 800W microwave.
For stovetop cooking, place the mixture in a saucepan, bring to a boil, and simmer on medium heat while continuously stirring until most of the liquid is absorbed and desired consistency is reached. This recipe serves 3 people depending on portion size.
