Homemade Plum and Orange Syrups

Ingredients

Plum syrup

  • 225g dried pitted plums
  • 300g filtered water
  • 150g refined sugar
  • Optional spices such as cloves, cinnamon stick, star anise, to taste

Orange syrup

  • 40g orange peel (from 2 large oranges)
  • 100g orange juice (freshly squeezed and strained)
  • 200g refined sugar

Preparation

Plum syrup

  1. Place all ingredients in a pan, mix, and cook over medium or low heat for about 15 minutes until the mixture reduces by half.

Orange syrup

  1. Place all ingredients in a pan, mix, and cook over medium or low heat until it reaches weak syrup stage at 100°C to 105°C.

  2. Let it cool in the pan and strain.

Storage tips

  1. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 10 days.
