Zebra Cake with Chocolate and Vanilla Layers
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 300g sugar
- 125ml oil
- 125ml water
- 375g all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
Preparation
Beat egg whites until stiff, then add half the sugar and beat until firm; reserve
Beat egg yolks with remaining sugar until light and creamy, then add water and beat until frothy
Add baking powder, flour, and oil to the yolk mixture and beat until homogeneous
Gently fold the reserved egg whites into the batter until incorporated
Divide the batter into two bowls and mix cocoa powder into one bowl
Place a full spoonful of plain batter in the center of the greased and floured pan and top with a full spoonful of chocolate batter
Repeat alternating batters, placing each spoonful in the center, until all batter is used
Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C for about 50 minutes; let cool before unmolding and serving
