Classic Chocolate and Vanilla Marble Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 200 g butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Preparation

  1. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; set aside

  2. Beat butter, sugar, and egg yolks

  3. Mix flour, milk, baking powder, and the beaten egg whites

  4. Divide the batter in half. Mix cocoa powder into one half

  5. Pour the white batter into a pan greased with margarine and dusted with flour. Pour the chocolate batter on top

  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for 35 to 40 minutes

Notes

  1. If desired, after the cake has cooled, top with chocolate frosting
