Homemade Brazilian Sweet Bread Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 packets instant yeast
  • 1 heaping tablespoon margarine
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 kg all-purpose flour

Topping

  • sweetened condensed milk
  • shredded coconut

Preparation

  1. Blend all ingredients except flour in a blender until homogeneous, about 5 minutes

  2. Pour mixture into a large bowl and gradually add flour, working the dough until it comes off the hands, adding more flour if necessary

  3. Let dough rest for 1 hour or until doubled in volume

  4. Place dough on a table and knead well

  5. Shape into rolls and place on a greased and floured pan

  6. Let rolls rest for 40 to 50 minutes or until doubled in volume

  7. Bake in a preheated medium oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden

  8. Remove rolls from oven, brush with sweetened condensed milk, and sprinkle shredded coconut to taste

  9. Serve immediately
