Homemade Brazilian Sweet Bread Rolls
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 packets instant yeast
- 1 heaping tablespoon margarine
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 kg all-purpose flour
Topping
- sweetened condensed milk
- shredded coconut
Preparation
Blend all ingredients except flour in a blender until homogeneous, about 5 minutes
Pour mixture into a large bowl and gradually add flour, working the dough until it comes off the hands, adding more flour if necessary
Let dough rest for 1 hour or until doubled in volume
Place dough on a table and knead well
Shape into rolls and place on a greased and floured pan
Let rolls rest for 40 to 50 minutes or until doubled in volume
Bake in a preheated medium oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden
Remove rolls from oven, brush with sweetened condensed milk, and sprinkle shredded coconut to taste
Serve immediately
