Homemade Stuffed Bread with Optional Fillings
Ingredients
- 800 g all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 level tablespoon sugar
- 1 heaping tablespoon salt
- 10 g active dry yeast
Fillings
- Bacon, chopped (optional)
- Calabresa sausage, chopped (optional)
- Cheese, chopped (optional)
Preparation
Pour warm milk into a bowl and dissolve the yeast in it. Then add the eggs, oil, sugar, and salt
Mix all ingredients well by hand
Gradually add the flour until the dough no longer sticks to your hands
Knead the dough well
Divide the dough into desired portions. If using fillings, add chopped bacon, calabresa sausage, or cheese to each portion, then roll to enclose
Let the dough rest for 1 hour
Brush each piece with egg yolk
Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C for 40 minutes, then increase the temperature to 220Β°C to brown
Tips
No need to knead the dough twice. It rises beautifully
