Homemade Cheese and Veggie Pizza Rolls

Ingredients

Dough

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon fine instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 1/4 cup corn oil
  • 1 cup warm water

Filling

  • 2/3 cup ready pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1 cup chopped black olives

Preparation

  1. In the mixer bowl, place 2 cups of flour, the yeast, baking powder, and salt. Attach the dough hook and mix to combine the ingredients. Add the oil and water and knead for 5 minutes until a smooth and elastic dough forms. Add the remaining flour if the dough is too soft. Place it in an oiled bowl, brush the surface with a little oil, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes until doubled in size.

  2. Prepare a 13x9 inch baking pan and grease it with oil.

  3. On a floured surface, place the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1 cm thick using a rolling pin. Spread the sauce over the dough, leaving a 1 cm border around the edges without sauce to seal after rolling.

  4. Sprinkle the cheese, mushrooms, and olives over the sauce. Roll the dough into a log and seal the edge well.

  5. Using a sharp knife or thread, cut the log into 12 equal pieces. Place the rolls in the prepared pan. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 20 minutes until doubled in size again.

  6. Position the oven rack in the middle and preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the rolls for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. Remove the pan from the oven, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let rest for 10 minutes. Serve the pizza rolls hot.
