Savory Baked Tofu Lunch Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 block tofu
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder

Preparation

  1. Drain and press the tofu using methods listed below.

  2. Cut the pressed tofu into cubes.

  3. Place the tofu in a medium-sized Tupperware container.

  4. Add remaining ingredients, seal the container, and gently shake to coat the tofu evenly.

  5. Place the coated tofu on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 400°F for 25 minutes.

  6. Serve as desired.

Tofu pressing tips

  1. Pressing tofu removes water to improve texture and marinating; press for at least an hour if possible.

  2. Wrap the tofu block in paper towels or a clean towel, place between two plates, and add a heavy book on top.

  3. Alternatively, use a tofu press or opt for pre-pressed super firm tofu that is vacuum-packed.
