Chocolate Overnight Oats Breakfast

Ingredients

  • 1/3 C (40g) rolled oats
  • 1 Tbsp (10g) chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp (10g) hemp seeds
  • 1/2 - 1 Tbsp (4-7g) cacao powder*
  • 1/4 tsp (1g) vanilla extract -optional, but recommended
  • Tiny pinch of salt -optional, but recommended
  • 2 tsp (12g) maple syrup
  • 1/2 C + 2 Tbsp (150g) unsweetened plant milk (I use soy milk for extra protein)

Preparation

  1. To a small bowl or glass jar, add the rolled oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and cacao powder, and stir to combine

  2. Then add the vanilla extract (if using), salt (if using), maple syrup, and 1/4 C of the milk, and stir vigorously until smooth

  3. Once smooth stir in the remaining plant milk

  4. Cover the bowl or jar and refrigerate overnight

  5. In the morning, remove the oats from the fridge, uncover them, and top with toppings of choice, such as fresh berries, banana, plant based yoghurt, peanut butter, and chocolate chips

  6. Enjoy!
