Maple Pecan Oats

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp ground flax seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

Preparation

  1. Add all ingredients to a sauce pan and bring to a simmer

  2. Stir oats and cook for about 3-5 minutes to allow to thicken

  3. Top with fruit or add some extra pecans and a drizzle of maple syrup to your hearts content

  4. If you’d like to leave out the maple syrup, feel free to add 2 mashed medjool dates (kind of makes the oats taste like a pecan pie
