Arabian Puffed Bread
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons melted cooking oil or margarine
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup hot water
Preparation
Put all ingredients except hot water and mix until it resembles bread crumbs.
Add hot water and knead until not sticky to hands and dough is smooth.
Shape dough into ping-pong ball sized pieces and let rest for 30 minutes.
Flatten the dough. Fry in plenty of hot oil over medium heat. While frying, continuously pour oil over the bread to make it puff up.
