Fluffy and Crunchy Vegan Waffles
Ingredients
- 350 milliliters plant-based milk
- 1 mashed banana or 120 grams applesauce
- 60 grams melted butter
- 200 grams whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- generous pinch of salt
Optional toppings
- blueberries
- raspberries
- vanilla yogurt
- coconut flakes
Preparation
Mix the plant-based milk with the mashed banana and melted butter.
Add the remaining ingredients and stir well but not too much to keep the waffles airy.
Grease a waffle iron.
Divide half the batter into the waffle iron; if it has two compartments, divide into quarters.
Bake for 7-9 minutes or until done; do not open too early to avoid tearing the batter.
Remove the waffles with a fork or knife.
Repeat with the remaining batter.
Serve with favorite toppings such as fresh fruit and/or syrup.
Tips
Do not open the waffle iron too early, as it may tear the batter.
