Simple Kung Pao Chicken

Ingredients

  • chicken
  • corn starch
  • black pepper
  • salt
  • water (a little)

Aromatics

  • garlic
  • ginger
  • dried chili peppers (cut)

Sauce components

  • bell peppers
  • onion
  • oyster sauce
  • sweet soy sauce
  • chili sauce
  • water and corn starch mixture

Add-ins

  • cashews
  • green onions

Preparation

  1. Fry the chicken mixed with corn starch, black pepper, salt, and a little water, then set it aside.

  2. Sauté garlic, ginger, and cut dried chili peppers until fragrant.

  3. Add bell peppers, onion, oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, and a mixture of water and corn starch; let it cook for a moment.

  4. Add the fried chicken, cashews, and green onions; stir until well combined and serve.

Tips

  1. Spiciness depends on the dried chilies used; add bird's eye chilies for more heat if desired.
