Healthier Protein French Toast Breakfast
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 egg white
- 1 scoop vegan protein powder
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 pieces sourdough bread
- vanilla ghee or substitute
Toppings
- plain Greek yogurt
- bananas
- strawberries
- organic peanut butter
- chocolate chips
Preparation
Mix 1 egg, 1 egg white, 1 scoop vegan protein powder, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon to make the batter.
Soak 2 pieces of sourdough bread in the batter.
Cook the soaked bread on the stove in vanilla ghee until golden brown on both sides.
For caramelized bananas, slice bananas and cook in a skillet with ghee and cinnamon for 1 minute per side.
Serve the French toast topped with plain Greek yogurt, caramelized bananas, strawberries, organic peanut butter, and chocolate chips.
Optionally, use any oil, ghee, or butter for cooking, and note that no syrup is needed as the toppings add sweetness.
