Healthy Apple Crisp

Ingredients

Apples

  • 5 apples
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon, ground

Crisp

  • 1 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup walnuts
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup buckwheat flour (or regular wheat)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon, ground
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom, ground

Preparation

  1. Peel and chop the apples into bite sizes and place them in a saucepan together with maple syrup and cinnamon. On medium to low heat, let the apples sweat and become soft while stirring once in a while.

  2. In a bowl, add oats, buckwheat flour, walnuts, maple syrup and spices, and stir with a spoon until combined.

  3. Add the apples to a baking dish and top with the crumble. Place in the oven to bake for about 15 minutes or until the crumble is golden.

  4. Serve with vegan ice cream, banana ice cream or vegan vanilla whip.
