Apple and Walnut Crumble with Extra Magic

Ingredients

Base

  • 1 kg apples, peeled & cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 - 2 tsp maple or brown sugar depending on how sweet your apples are
  • 1 tsp butter

Topping

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup maple or brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup walnuts

Magic ingredient

  • 2 tsp orange blossom water

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 175C

  2. Mix all base ingredients in a large bowl, transfer to a baking dish and bake for 25 mins

  3. While the apples are cooking mix all the topping ingredients together to a crumbly consistency. Using your hands works best

  4. When the apples have had their initial 25 minutes remove from the oven and mix through the blossom water

  5. Add the topping and bake for a further 25 minutes

  6. Serve with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy. x
