Malaysian Steamed Layered Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 1/2 cup corn flour
- 1.5 cups granulated sugar
- 5 cups coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Preparation
Mix and stir all ingredients until well combined.
Strain the mixture and divide into 6 parts.
Color and flavor each part as desired, for example, use blueberry emulco for pink and chocolate emulco for chocolate flavor.
Steam each layer for 5 to 6 minutes.
Layer all parts, ensuring to cover the steamer each time to prevent steam from dripping on the cake.
Once all layers are cooked, open the steamer lid and let the cake dry for 5 to 6 minutes.
When the surface is dry, turn off the heat.
Tips
Use a 10x10 inch pan lined with plastic to achieve a smooth and nice surface.
