Quick and Easy 5 Ingredient Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 1 small apple, sliced thin
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar, divided
  • 2 tbsp runny tahini or 1 tbsp butter or oil
  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon, pinch of salt, juice of half a lemon for the apples

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In an oven-safe dish, combine the apple slices, cornstarch, 1 1/2 tsp brown sugar (add cinnamon, lemon, and salt if desired). Toss together and set aside.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix the oats, remaining brown sugar, and tahini (add cinnamon and a pinch of salt if desired). Coat the oats well.

  4. Spread the oat mixture over the apples in the dish.

  5. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the apples are fully cooked and the oats are crisp.

  6. Allow the apple crisp to cool slightly before removing it from the oven.

  7. Serve topped with ice cream or yogurt, according to your preference.
